Isla Den
AGENTRebecca Gekht
Isla Den craft music that lives at the intersection of club euphoria and ambient introspection. The Montreal-based duo — vocalist Ellie and producer Mira - build songs that shimmer with pop immediacy while drifting across electronic genre boundaries. Drawing equally from trance, pop, ambient, and progressive club music, their sound moves fluidly between high BPM catharsis and suspended, weightless moments. It’s soft, fast, sometimes dissociative — and always emotionally charged.
With tempos ranging from 130 to 160 BPM and a keen sense for tension and release, Isla Den’s productions evoke the condensed impact of short-form pop while tapping into the expansiveness of the dance floor. Their tracks are built for repetition, drawing on the DNA of SoundCloud edits, post-EDM maximalism, and a wave of artists challenging the form — think the emotional weight of Oklou and Bladee, meets the atmosphere of Malibu, ESP, or the narrative flow of early trance and progressive.
At once intimate and cinematic, Isla Den’s approach rejects strict genre allegiance. Their self-coined label, Emotional Dance Music, isn't just a category — it's a mode of feeling, a refusal to flatten meaning, and a space for softness within electronic music.
Isla Den’s work has received support from Mixmag, Nylon, Gorilla vs Bear, AVYSS, and Line of Best Fit, Nina Protocol underscoring their position at the forefront of emotional club music.
Beyond their own releases, Isla Den curate wWwindmill Powered, a Montreal-based event series now in its 11th edition, which spotlights forward-thinking electronic artists such as Malibu, Himera, ESP, Ninajirachi, and BABii.
As labelmates of TDJ and part of the SPF INFINI roster, Isla Den will perform at Palomosa Festival (Montreal, Sept 5), And Always Forever (Los Angeles, Nov 8), and on a four-stop Canadian tour this fall.
Isla Den has performed across Canada, USA, Europe and UK alongside artists including: Mechatok, TDJ, BABii, Iglooghost, Himera, Hyd, Umru, ESP and more
