AGENTMichaël Bardier
Astrid Sonne is a Danish artist, composer, producer and viola player, currently based in London.
Her new album ‘Great Doubt’ (Escho, 2024) is an addictive collection of chamber pop miniatures that melds her intimate, unadorned vocals with woozy electronics, understated string/piano arrangements and raw, unprocessed programming.
‘Great Doubt’ follows an already acclaimed discography — ‘Outside Of Your Lifetime’, ‘Cliodynamics’, and ‘Human Lines’ — that crafted a signature sonic world, positioning the classical with the modern: baroque moods and arpeggiated synths; choral voices and electronic experiments.
Key performances and commissions to date include: Berlin Atonal – where she performed new work Ephemeral with a choir, Rewire Festival – who commissioned her to write and perform Cycles of Lost and Found, and Strøm Festival – where she unvailed site specific compositions for the ruins under the Danish Parliament and a stretch of the Copenhagen Metro.
