Meth Math
Led by Mexico City-based vocalist, designer, and installation artist Ángelica Ballesteros, Meth Math fuses dystopian pop with eerie reggaeton and club-driven chaos. Backed by producers error.error (Efrén Coronado) and Bonsai Babies (To Robles), the trio originally met on the set of an underground horror film. Hailing from Hermosillo, Sonora—1,200 miles northwest of CDMX—their influences stretch from neo-perreo and underground punk to the rave scene.
Beyond music, Ángelica runs her own clothing label, Baby Angel, and the avant-garde art gallery Antes de Cristo, curating installation shows in unconventional spaces like shopping malls, payphone booths, and stretch limousines.
Meth Math has released two groundbreaking EPs and one LP under In Real Life (US), carving out a distinct sonic world of warped reggaeton, ethereal vocals, and forward-thinking electronic production. Their latest LP, Chupetones—co-written and co-produced by Nick León—landed at #42 on Rolling Stone’s “50 Best Latin Albums of 2024.” Their earlier EP m♡rtal featured collaborations with Sega Bodega and Dinamarca, further cementing their status as sonic risk-takers.
Since 2022, Meth Math has been touring across the U.S. and Europe, selling out venues in London, Paris, Madrid, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. They’ve also left their mark on major festivals like Ceremonia, Les Nuits Sonores, and Mutek MX, while receiving praise from Rolling Stone, i-D, The Face, Dazed, and Crack Magazine.
